(Friday, April 11, 2008 / 9:30 PM)

I'm damn tired AND exhausted. Physically, and half mentally, if not I won't be here blogging. Lols.

The orientation was actually quite okay, it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. It was kinda fun, after I had made new friends that is. ^^v

But seriously, I hate taking the mrt in the morning. The nightmares of working came back to me. Sheesh. I literally got to squeeze my way into the train and I almost couldn't get out. Those people in Bukit Batok station really very pitiful. Since it's the last stop before reaching Jurong East interchange, the train is jammed pack and they always couldn't get in.

Reached NP, the entrance is in a total mess and full of people. Had to walk all the way to LT 22 for briefing. The briefing was boring. But which briefing wasn't boring?

So each of the 4 courses in ICT was split further into 4 sub classes. I'm in 0834. Coincidentally, I'm in the same class as qingping. Funny actually. After the briefing we went next to meet our mentor. Our mentor is actually an caucasian from Ireland called Oran Zane Devilly. He's quite amusing. He called himself devil because of his last name. Haha.

And then, what I hated most, introduction and icebreaking games. Whoever invented them sucks. It's always the same games. So cliche. But, but ... it's only one day, and I think I can remember most of my classmates' names.

Played those stupid games, then the student buddy wanted us to cheer, and our class very united, we stayed quiet. It was actually very hilarious.

Then it was lunch time. We had this "bento" which is very not japanese because the rice isn't sticky, and the side dishes were actually meat, egg, fish cake and some dunno what stuff. It's like ... basically chinese dishes packed into what looked like a bento package. Lols.

Then after lunch we went back to the Lecture Theatre for the games briefing. The games were kind of ... dumb if I were to say. First stop was this math game. I can't believe it, MATH! I was like omg, orientation also need to use math. And I hate math. Unfortunately the other group won. Geez.

Next game was this erm... how to say, commonly played game. We had to guess what one of our classmate was acting and guessed the correct words. And ... we won, due to our 'psycho' power. Because before our classmates could even act out, we already guessed the answer. Haha. And the student councils were in awe at this. Lols.

Then the next game was this egg game. We were given straws, newspaper and less than 1metre scotch tape and of course, a egg. We had to do whatever we can with the materials given to protect the egg so that it won't break when it's being thrown. In the end both groups' egg cracked. It's hard lar.

Actually I think there was supposed to be one more game, but I forgot what it was. STM. I know the last game we were given a piece of paper where there's two 3d figurines printed and we had to make them using satay sticks, ice cream sticks and newspaper. The end product was really hilarious and we were laughing away even though we were the one who had made it. The figurines looked really stupid and had such a weird postures lar.

Lastly, we all proceeded to the field for some really, really weird stuff. I still don't really understand the purpose of the game, and I was blindly following my classmates around. There were stations, and we were supposed to complete whatever the stations wanted to get this 'fairy wand' in order to get the keys. But whatever, we didn't finish the game because it was time to go home. I was so elated to end this thing. Gosh.

Next week, there's no official lessons for us. But I rather wish we had. The timetable they gave us for the 1st week was like ... torturous? And I'm still rather confused.
